In February 2012, Finnish divers found a sunken Swedish merchant ship Kyros in the waters of the Gulf of Botnia with a "cognac" cargo. During World War I, a German submarine sank a merchant ship carrying 1,000 bottles of cognac and 300 bottles of liquor. However, it has not yet been possible to raise the alcohol to the surface.
