I think people are like ferromagnetics. If you place them in a certain information field - when everyone and everyone is talking about the same thing, then the person is charged (or infected) with these ideas / thoughts / phrases, and if the field is removed, then he himself will become the source of the field of the same direction. When such a "magnetized" person falls into a field of opposite direction, which contradicts his views, he seeks to leave him - the field pushes him out. If it still remains in this field, then the field inevitably magnetizes it under itself. And thus, already the original field appears to be contrary to his views.
I will not say that this model is comprehensive, but it works, at least in one particular case - mine. I speak as a man who managed to change his religion twice and eventually, after many years, become an atheist again.
