We had a case in defense. There is an African student in our group whose mother tongue is English, but speaks Russian quite clearly. He prepared his speech for defense in Russian. After the lecture, the teachers asked him questions. And when the turn came to the chairman of the commission, he decided to ask in English. A minute’s pause and our student replied: I didn’t understand the question, repeat...in Russian.
