This expedition was supposed to be his last “big” journey, and preparations for it were very serious. There were even three training trips with a total length of several thousand kilometers. Finally, on March 8, 1995, an international six-man expedition headed by Will launched from the Northern Land (Russia) archipelago to the island of Elsmir (Canada). It was about 4,000 kilometers, and it was planned to be on the pole on Earth Day, April 22. And then, after one and a half months of crossing the snow fields of the Arctic Ocean, the polarists reach the North Pole.
