Representatives of the overthrown dynasties have somehow disappeared in our time. As ordinary citizens, without an administrative resource, they don’t shine – they don’t earn either blue blood or white bone. The greater respect is caused by those of them who are still able to create a net with their own forces. I noticed one like that. An old man appeared in the Romanian parliament and said: "It is not important that we have inherited our country from our great ancestors. The important thing is that we owe this country to our children. Sooner or later we will have to repay that debt.”
With this speech the old man celebrated his 90th anniversary. He is now 94, and still alive. His name is Michail Hohenzollern. His grandfather renounced the German throne in favor of William II. He is densely related to Romanov and is the grandson of the great princess and queen of Greece Olga Konstantinovna, the grandson of the great princess Mary Alexandrovna. Mikhail was king of Romania from 1927 to 1947 with a break on his father's rule, who first abandoned the throne because of marriage to one of his mistresses, and then still returned. He is also known as the only surviving knight of the highest Soviet military order – the Order of Victory. He was awarded for the brilliant operation to overthrow the pro-fascist dictator Antonescu. This markedly accelerated the end of the war, depriving Germany of its largest oil fields. Mikhail is the only living commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the country during World War II. I personally have such a biography.
