I will tell you this story in memory of my recently deceased father. He was a very humble man, and at the same time a great professional in his business. In Soviet times, he was involved in the development of the water supply systems of the Volga cities. Saratov, Kuibyshev (Samara), Gorky (Nizhny Novgorod)
As a child I was especially worried when he went to Gorky. “Mom, why did Dad go to the bitter city? Could he even go for a candy?” he asked.
He once designed one of the important water supply systems. Not that water supply, not that cleaning station in one of these cities. I'm not going to lie, for years I don't know exactly what. And here is his boss. And the direct text announces that the project needs to reduce the price of blood from the nose. But the Pope categorically refused to make any changes to the project, saying that everything was done according to the norms and rules and fundamental changes are impossible. The headquarters expected to arrange tarams. The clarification of relationships in elevated tones ended with the immortal phrase in the style - "you will not be, there will be others", so beloved by various kinds of leaders in our time. Dad came home upset and said he would break all the drawings to the dogs. But his mother answered him.
Eventually, the facility was built according to a project modified by other designers, and Daddy’s drawings were peacefully dusted at home on the underground for fifteen years. Suddenly, he is called by the same boss and asks stealthily whether the father has his variant of drawings. It turned out that the Volga in that year was especially heavy and the object in the literal sense of the word "swim". The father also provided this option in contrast to the "happy" project. And here, in the aural order, the object began to rebuild already according to Daddy’s project. Then he was awarded a triple prize, which, knowing the complacency of his boss, can be recognized as a very extraordinary event.
Later, in the age of the Internet and satellite images, Dad sometimes asked me to show how his structures look from the satellite. Which, I hope, and after many years will work normally for people.
