Literally yesterday.
In one of the provincial regional centers at the All-Russian forum in the field of medical industry and healthcare, an indicative operation was carried out in a vivarium (a separate room at a medical-biological institution (research institute, laboratory) intended for the maintenance of laboratory animals used in experimental work or in the training process).
Specifically, in this case, the experimental pig valve on the heart was changed. From artificial to actual. Vivarium is located on the territory of a well-known factory for the production of artificial valves and other high-tech medical products. And before operations on the human heart, a series of operations on animals are carried out to work out the technology.
The operation is real. The pigs are under anesthesia and are sterile.
The operation is broadcast online on the big screen in one of the halls of the forum. But the governor, along with his numerous staff, decided to personally make sure that the operation was real, and on the way to ask a few questions to the doctors and went to the operating room. Together with him there were his leaders and ministers of the regional government.
They were not allowed close to the table, but from some distance it was clear that the pig was alive, the blood was red, and the doctors did not mimic the manipulation, but operated honestly. The governor asked a few questions, he was answered, everyone is heading for exit. And here comes the question from the Governor’s Board:
How did you know that a pig’s heart hurt?
This question was not answered. The pig survived the operation well. But we have to do something with the ministers. Could I try a brain transplant?
