Nikon vs Canon
One of the eternal disputes, with a striking regularity arising on photographic forums, takes its roots in the 17th century, when Patriarch Nikon, on the initiative of the Tsar, conducted the reform of the Orthodox Church.
This reform led to the division of believers into followers of Nikon (Nikonists) and those who wanted to live according to the old canon (Canonists).
